建筑设计专业包括建筑物内部各种使用功能和使用空间的合理安排，建筑物与周围环境、与各种外部条件的协调配合,内部和外表的艺术效果,各个细部的构造方式，建筑与结构、建筑与各种设备等相关技术的综合协调，以及如何以更少的材料、更少的劳动力、更少的投资、更少的时间来实现上述各种要求。其最终目的是使建筑物做到适用、经济、坚固、美观。

就业前景
学习建筑设计独特的一点，是可以学习到设计的思维。而拥有敏捷的设计的思维和雄厚的人文素养及强大的交流沟通能力,会让一个人有很广阔的事业空间。而原本学习建筑的人在其他领域取得成功的例子也比比皆是。
学习建筑专业所习得的知识与技能固然很宝贵，但更有价值的是在此过程中积累得到的思维与能力和眼界。
建筑设计作为建筑业的一一个重要环节,产生了专业从事建筑设计的公司,以设计大型公建项目为主的商业综合建筑设计公司，如SOM KPF. HOK等，更多的则是由著名建筑师个人开设的建筑设计事务所。其他以设计著名的事务所还有：OMA诺曼●福斯特、扎哈哈迪德等。
在美国，学生们毕业后要在建筑师事务所工作2-3年，进行助理建筑师实践。与国内不同，这里的助理建筑师工作同样需要申请人按照NCARB助理建筑师工作实践认证要求，由2名资深注册建筑师确认和推荐，完成申请手续，待拿到助理建筑师实践工作认证之后，方具备申请注册建筑师的条件。异常严格的教育和实习就会淘汰掉大部分人，所以存活到最后拿到License的人都是鹤立鸡群了，之后的高薪也就是理所当然的事情了。

We are interested in seeing evidence of your creativity. Work selected for inclusion should demonstrate the breadth and diversity of your creative interests and need not
be limited to architectural work (if included at l)) Drawing, sketching. pAInting,graphic design, photography, video, web-design, sculpture. ceramics and furniture design are just some examples of the types of work that may be included. Work may be produced digitally and/or by hand, for school courses, extracurricular activities or independently. Include examples of hand or CAD drafting only if they demonstrate clear design intent rather than just technical skill.
You may only submit image files(jpg, jpeg, png, gif, tif,tiff, bmp, tga) up to 5MB ea. Please convert any pdf files to images. Up to one video file link (m4v, mov, mp4, wmv,fly, asf, mpeg, mpg, mkv) up to 250MB may be included in your submission.
Provide 10-25 items. Images (up to 5MB each), Video (up to 250MB each) and Models (Sketchfab). You may also link to media from YouTube and Vimeo
3.Personal Statement
4.Transcripts: first-year applicants should submit official transcripts of all high school and college coursework completed.
5.Official est Scores SAT or ACT scores directly to USC. For 2017 applicants, USC will accept both the old and new version of the SAT. In this case, the essay will not be required for the new SAT or the ACT.
6.School Report All fist-year applicants are required to submit the Common Application School Report by providing the name and e. mail address of a recommender.
