谢丽芳是一位艺术家、艺术教育者和研究者,她在作品中不断探索中国民间艺术对当代艺术实践和对社会的影响。丽芳是中国女画家协会副主席、湖南省女画家协会主席、中国美术家协会会员。她曾在北京、西安、成都、长沙等多个中国城市举办团体和个人展览。她的作品也曾在法国、埃及和澳大利亚墨尔本新金山中文图书馆展出。
Xie Lifang is an artist, art educator and researcher who has been persistently exploring in her work the implication of Chinese Folk Arts for contemporary art practice and the society in general. Lifang is the Vice President of China Female Artists Association, the President of Hunan Female Artists Association, and a member of China Artists Association. She exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in many Chinese cities such as Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Changsha, etc. Her works were also exhibited in France, Egypt, and at Xin Jinshan Chinese Library in Melbourne, Australia。

对“是生命就该得到尊重”这一观念的思考,源于艺术家所主持的一个将中国多各民族民间美术引进学校美术教育的“蒲公英行动”公益项目,在艺术家持续十五年对中国不同民族进行田野考察的过程中,感觉到中国乡村文化蕴含着一套完整的智慧系统。而这个系统的核心即对万物生命的看重。如同世界所有原始部族几乎都有过对动植物崇拜的行为一样,鸟纹、蛇纹、鱼纹等动物图式,还有对神树的崇拜等等,在中国传统文化中就都蕴含着生命本源之寓意。死亡是一个沉重的命题,我们不知道灵魂是否真的存在,但却知道以心控物是人类与生俱来的自恋天性。它与灵魂永存的幻想一样古老。
宗教、艺术、科学本是同源异形,且是人类在探求生命和自然神秘过程中所产生的不同分支。当人们认为原始和民间艺术作为封闭的文化形态已成为历史的时候,科学却露出了微微笑意。量子纠缠是量子力学理论中最著名的预测,它描述了两个粒子互相纠缠,即使相距遥远,一个粒子的行为将会影响另一个的状态。万物皆有默契的可能。当意识与生命也已开始沿着量子边界——经典世界与量子世界间狭窄“溪流”悠然航行,从物质世界跨越到精神领域,人们对以前所淡忘了的一些灰色系统的传统意识和观念也就有了一些不同的猜测和神往。当世界处于对难以遏制的生态与人文环境破坏的忧患之中时,为了人类与自然万物的休戚与共,艺术家在她的神话世界里,将人与自然,人与万物与灵魂都美丽地纠缠在了一起。艺术为人类提供了一条通向永恒的路径。
My contemplation of the idea of ‘as long as it is a life, it deserves respect’ was attributed to a special project known as ‘Pugongying Xingdong’ or ‘Dandelion Action’. The project is led by me and is committed to bringing a variety of Chinese folk arts of different ethnic minorities into primary school art education. When conducting field investigations into cultures of different ethnic minorities during a period of fifteen years, I felt that there was a comprehensive system of wisdom deep inside the Chinese rural culture, and the core to this system was the emphasis on all matter and life. Comparable to the worship of animals and plants in every other primitive tribes around the world, in traditional Chinese culture,animal patterns of bird, snake and fish etc.as well as the reverence for god tree already implied the source of life.‘Death’ is a heavy topic, and though I do not know if the soul really exists, I do know that the notion of ‘mind over matter’ reflects humans’ innate narcissistic nature. It is as ancient as the fantasy that the soul can exist forever.
Religion, art and science are isomorphic. They were different branches derived from the process of humans exploring the mystery of life and nature. While people thought that primitive and fork arts as closed cultural forms have become history, scientists showed a subtle smile. ‘Entanglement’ is the most famous predication in quantum mechanics. It describes a physical phenomenon in which two particles are generated and interact in such manner that the state of each particle cannot be described independently of the state of the other, even when they are separated by a large distance. The possibility of entanglement can exist between everything. When consciousness and life start to voyage leisurely along the boundary of the quantum world – a narrow stream between the classical and quantum worlds, cross from the material world to the spiritual field, people will also have different conjectures about and divine desires for the traditional awareness and concepts of some grey systems that had been forgotten. When the world is in deep worry about uncontAInable damages to ecological and cultural environments, ‘My Mystical World’ depicts a wishful longing for sharing weal and woe between humans and nature. In my mystical world, humans, nature, all things and souls are beautifully entangled. Art provides a path to eternity for humanity.
